The gig there went very well (even though the sound wasn't the best)!!!. I (read we, Amaran) just wanted to express our gratitude towards Ronnie Bergerståhl (drummer in Julie Laughs No More) who helped us out by playing the bass on this particular gig!!! Way to go Ronnie - you rule!!! Julie Laughs No More can be heard on "Metal Rules Compilation Vol. 1" Do check them out!!! /kari Nov 14, 2002 We have decided to use Studio Underground (Västerås - Sweden) fo r the recording of our next, yet untitled, album. The new album will be recorded between the 7:th and 27:th of April 2003. We have 13 new songs ready and the songs are much more heavier than the material on "A World Depraved". I guess that we will have additional songs, to those 13 today, when we enter the studio but that will just give us more to chose from :-). We have also ordered the first shipment of Amaran T-shirts and they will soon be available... This is my old hometown and not far from the places where Micke and Kari used to live. Other bands participating, and hopefully playing, at this metalnight are Dead Awaken, The Enthralled (pornographic witchmasters....or what!? ;-) ) and Skinfected./ronnie Oct 23, 2002 We will not participate on the "Metal Night" in Nyköping due to an unprofessional arranger. /kari Sep 30, 2002 We will play at something called 'Metal Night' at Slakthuset in Nyköping on the 1:st of November. We'll be playing together with 'Genuflection To Limbo', with whom we have played before. Two other bands will perform as well. /kari Sep 23, 2002 A new version of the site. Hope you like it. The news we wanted to share was that we were chosen as one of the opening acts for the Tristania European tour (Oct 2002). But now this tour has been postponed until Tristania releases a new album. It sucks, but I guess it's a part of life ;-) Anyhow, we have tried to get some gigs here in sweden and now finally we have got one!!! It will take place on the 3:d of October here in Stockholm at "Club Nirvana" (Bäckahästen, Kungsgatan 50). May 10:th we'll be playing live at Briggen in Oxelösund together with "Genuflection To Limbo". Sebastian from Germany is about to set up an Amaran-German fanpage. We have booked another gig. Ode We'll soon give you a more indepth report /kari January 25, 2002 We have been very busy lately putting all the pieces in place for our upcoming album. There is a lot to do, believe me :-) First of all we had a very cool cover made by Mick Born but it was rejected by our labelboss... Hmmm, sad because it was a bit different from a conventional "metalcover" but all of us in the band liked it. Anyhow that put us back to square one... We have after that been in contact with different artist and it will eventually end up in a new cover (hopefully you, Laurent, like that one better ;-). Promopictures will be taken soon. The good thing about all this hurry is that the we have received a word that the album is going to be released by the end of April. That is really nice!!! We still haven't decided which songs will make it to the album. Now there's only two weeks left before we head off to Denmark :-). We have been booked for yet another gig at Ekens Gård in Haninge. That gig will take place at the 19:th of April and we'll open for ARISE from Gothenburg. I'm looking forward to that one. /kari January 01, 2002 A happy new year to you all!!! A new year means new news so we'll better add some... First of all, thanks to you all who visited our site, signed our guestbook, voted on the best song or in any way contributed to make Amaran to what we are today. THANKS! The first news is that we have a title for our yet unrecorded album: A World Depraved We think that the name sums up all the song we'll record. The recording of the album will take place in the Aabenraa Studio in Denmark between the 8:th and 21:st of February. We'll go there with the intention to record 14 song but we'll see which of them will make it to the album. The titles of of the 14 songs are (alphabetically):Daffodil Day before after Faith Healer Fragile and small Imperfect Karma in flesh Little victory Lullaby Nocturnal Ode Received a kiss Rusty warhorse Son of morning Void If everything goes as planned we'll release the album before summer 2002. The guy who'll do the cover for the album is Mick Born. We'll add more news as soon as we'll have any :-) /kari |
